Default Is it fair to downsize a cage?

Hi all, is it fair to downsize my almost 2 year old hamsters cages from 900sq inches to 700, I am moving rooms and my larger cage will not fit in the room, I will provide him with lots to do and lots of toys, thankyou

You don't really have a choice but to downsize same as people sometimes have to downsize their houses.

I wouldn't worry whether its fair or not because 700 square inches is still a good sized cage and many hamsters have to do with a lot less than that.

As long as you set it up as close as possible to the current set up your hamster should be happy. At nearly two years old a smaller habitat may even be better for him.

I thought that would be the case as I have heard of people downsizing cages as their hamsters ages. Thankyou for the advice!
