Spotted that the equine shop that i get my megazorb from has Aubiose today, its £8 a bale so a bit more expensive but i think it has more that a megazrob bag cause its compressed.
Might get some next time i go to try it out
Aubiose any good for gerbils anyone know?

Question Re: Megazorb and Aubiose

Hi,

I checked both websites for these two products and it seems that neither is available in the US. Can anyone recommend the best substrate other than these two? I'd like something that absorbs well and is good for digging/tunneling. I do not own a hamster yet, but I plan to rescue one from a local group or shelter, so it may wind up being long-haired. So, with that in mind, it also needs to not stick to his/her fur.

Thanks very much for any help!
Jackie

Jackie: Take a look at my review thread for a huge bale of Harlan Teklad aspen bedding. Like you, I was also frustrated that we couldn't get Megazorb or Auboise in the US, but I've found that HT bales works very well as hammie substrate while being cheap/huge bag like Megazord and Auboise.

We're still on woodshavings. We're very careful to not use it if it's dusty, but we do want to swap over soon. Which one would be best??

We have two chinese, and a syrian.

I'm liking the Fitch recycled bedding at the moment. It goes a long way and my hams are making huge winter nests in it and shunning their houses

That looks rather nice lougarry. I haven't seen that before. Could you do a review with pics and I'll sticky it?
