Ragna’s German inspire cage
This thread stems from the thread - Ragna’s Cage Setup
So excited to get the cage finished. We have got the base finished and working on the framework. Have included pictures below.

Re: Ragna’s German inspire cage
looking good, are you going to cut away a bit of the wood at the front so you can see in? also if you are doing something like that - you were asking abut platforms, this isn't quite a platform, but you could turn it into one and i think it's a great idea - check 8min20secs out in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYijl9ftjPY&t=651s

I hope so...he really just wants to burrow.
The base which I posted pics is 50cm deep...we still building the cage to go on top. The length will be 165cm and the height of the cage another 50cm.
Really excited to see how it turns out.

The base we have done so far in the picture is only going to be bedding...lol...you must see how much bedding it needs...yikes! I ordered 8kg Fitch but that won’t touch sides...
Thanks for the link. I love that cage set up. I’m looking for platforms for on top of his bedding to help him have cover...any ideas?

Re: Ragna’s German inspire cage
I always liked this idea - looks simple - i guess you could do it any size, if you can get hold of the materials

Re: Ragna’s German inspire cage
Couldn't you attach corner platforms and shelves/platforms along the sides directly to the cage rather than freestanding on supports? With a 50cm substrate depth you don't want anything heavy topple over if Ragna tunnels underneath it.
I'm sure you've thought of that though.
Can't wait to see the finished project!
How's the camera working out?

Oh my word!!!! I didn't think of that one! You are a genius! We can attach the platforms to the side of the frame so when I clean it out or have to take the cage part off the platforms will simply move with it - please kindly put your coffee down and pat yourself on your back!
I went to get a card to insert into the camera and it just went pear shaped. Madam (baby) morphed into a being who got hungry, tired and iffy within seconds and I ended up going back home so will get the driver to go and get it - easier bet. I can then watch Ragna because he is going to bed later and later. The camera is working very well though. Before I went back to work this week I was trying to watch him while lying in bed but had to wait until very late. I'm working now so won't be able to do any late night stake outs - lol!
