Cage setup idea's?
So we've just upgraded my Syrian Frigg into the detolf tank.
Want some setup idea's or suggestions.
It's such a big space and I'm unsure how to make it the best and for her to enjoy it.
Currently she has from left to right: wooden hide, water bottle (velcro), wooden forage chew, bendy tunnel, willow chew ball, puzzle chew ball, bendy bridge, sand bath, various chew toys scattered and 11" inch wheel.
The sand tub is there otherwise she pushes bedding under her wheel and it doesn't run well.

Re: Cage setup idea's?
i would recommend adding some more bedding. from the photos it doesn't seem like there is more than 4 inches there and the more bedding the better.
also have you tried whimzees? theyre great, and my syrian loves them for chewing. he absolutely destroys so fast so i've started getting him the alligator ones because they're bigger and it's hilarious because they're almost as big as he is. he refuses to chew on his wooden chews (lovely waste of my money there) but whatever.
i really like your setup though!

Looks good, lucky hamster. Do you have any more bedding? could you pile it up even higher on the left and wedge tunnels/bendy bridge in it?
Are you wanting to buy some more things for it? If so I highly recommend a cork log, otherwise you could start saving empty boxes and inserting them throughout the substrate to make more tunnels.
It's going to be so much fun watching her in this.
Enjoy

Looks good! So much space to move around in. She's a very lucky hamster. You could add a coconut hut and some wheat sprays.

That looks lovely, and your hamster is so adorable. Your set up is already very nice!
If you asked me to add to it, I would give it more hides (cork log/ boxes/coconut hut as suggested by Luna and Ria are great). Sorry, I'm not that creative and the others that have posted here definitely all have far better ideas. I just personally like giving my hamster lots of different hideouts (different textures create different experiences for her) for her to choose from because she does seem to like rotating between them at different times of the day, according to her mood.

This is my Stormy’s set up. She loves the large sand area and the branch the most. She also has a lot of cork pieces which she loves chewing. Sorry the photo is so small, it doesnt let me post larger photos from mobile

(I know the wheel looks small but shes a VERY small Russian dwarf(40g) and she wont use a larger wheel for some reason. Her back is completely straight when she runs though.)
