Default clear-seal pet shop cage?

So i was looking at some of the cages in pet shops. They are generally glass fronts and trays with the rest made out of wood.
The pet shop near me the cages have like metal vents around the bottom but not all do!
How do they get ventalation???
I ask this also because i found an ex pet shop cage like this on Ebay! I'd be very interested in buying it as the cages are reasonable sizes. But i think i may have to drill air holes or mesh around the top.
What you think, should i get it, the measurements are about 80cm by 45cm?

Default Re: clear-seal pet shop cage?

it has four cages in total and would be ideal for breeding! But i don't plan to breed hamsters but possibly mice in future
The plan would be to drill holes in the wood roof of each and then cable tie mesh to the top. This way i could hang hammocks etc.
Luckily we have a big (yet to be converted camper van) with plenty of space to collect it in.
