Alaska or Hamster Heaven?

It's for a dwarf hamster at the moment I actually think the HH is the best option for a dwarf hamster and possibly inexperienced owner as it's one of the lowest cages, so less fall/height issues.

Have to say I’d go with the Barney if a bigger cage is an option, even if it needs more items in there to set it up correctly. Don’t think a full level would be necessary I’d probably go with another shelf on the other side and ramps/ladders and free standing levels in between. Don’t think it would be too difficult to set up. I do think even a hamster heaven can be on the small side for some dwarfs and when buying a cage for the first time it isn’t something I’d personally want to risk - a Barney has more floor space and a deeper base.

For a russian dwarf, I’d go for the Criceti 15 or Grosvenor over the HH. It’s cheaper, has a full top door, and a normal platform (no weird squiggle shape platform).

Thanks for the feedback everyone - looking at all my options, advice you have provided and budget I have decided to purchase the Alaska cage.

It arrived surprisingly quickly and came in huge box, I'll have fun walking with that back home from my office!
