Default Rotastak Cage

Hi,
After buying my rotastak cage I have been told that its next to useless, so a bit disappointed, but confused. It is the cage with the pod (larger one with three pieces), connected to the round area, with the big all-plastic piece at the bottom, with a decent space to run, and the small sleeping compartment at the top, confused as to whether this cage is all that bad, as we have taken out the platforms in the pod so there is running space and the extra wheel in there. They love to climb the bars in the pod too, and my cage has not many tubes and mostly open space, is it really that bad? Atm there are two chinese males in there. There is a decent amount of usable space in there.

Thanks.

If you are happy with it and the hamsters seem content then that is fine. The main issue with modular cages and groups of dwarfs is that they can get territorial and fight over the different areas and the wheels and have head on collisions in the tubes leading to fights.
Is it the triangular pods you have? These are not so bad as they have a reasonable space to move about in. Make sure they are well fitted together as hammies can escape by pushing out the connectors quite easily.
I am a great beleiver in the right cage for the right hamster and if yours seem OK there then let them be.

It is 3 cages connected together, one is the 3 part triangular pod, the other is the all plastic large piece, similar surface area to the pod, the other is the round part and a sleeping area, i think that part is sold as the 'starter cage' or something.

I have the adventure zone + maxi mansion + dining room all just for one robo. Personally i like rotastak, but only if you make it a decent size. Your one sounds fine and like souffle said if they are content then it should be ok. If you look on the 'lets see your cages' thread i posted a youtube video of mine. But the top of one of the pod sections split in half so i'm adding a bin cage instead of replacing it. If you're worried about the space, adding a bin cage would be a good idea.
