Suitable bedding
I know cotton wool bedding is bad for hamsters, but my hamster really loves it the one time I used it. Any suggestions for a similar nesting material that is safer than cotton wool? I use toilet paper at the moment

Re: Suitable bedding
Toilet paper is really all you need. You might see kapok pods and kapok fiber but these aren't safe at all and carry the same risks as cotton, despite being called a "natural" product(cotton is also in many cases natural and is unsafe,as with many other natural products).

Re: Suitable bedding
Toilet paper is what all my lot have. They do make some very cosy looking nests with it.

Re: Suitable bedding
I think toilet paper really is the only safe thing to use so just stick with that.

Re: Suitable bedding
I use toilet paper. You can also buy shredded paper bedding, but toilet paper is softer and cheaper.
