Savic Spelos on top of Savic Hamster Heaven

Hello all,

Have been searching past threads about this... I have a Savic Hamster Heaven Metro and I'm thinking about connecting it to a Savic Spelos to add room. Only thing is the Spelos would have to sit on top of the Hamster Heaven. Has anyone done this? I would love to give my ham more room. I think I actually have two Hamster Heavens (have to check the attic!) so I would have spare tubes and connectors.

Have you noticed your photos aren't showing up!

Imgur is pretty much the best place to upload images. You don't even need to make an account.

As for the initial query, this is how my previous cage was set up (and this is how its new owner has it set up). Spelos on top of the Metro. My Fluffy used the Spelos as a nest and toilet (you can see the sand on the left; he had a toilet in the main cage but never used it as such). Note: He had no interest in chewing cloth, so the blankets were there to provide some darkness and shelter from possible droughts.

I know lots of people who have connected Savic Spelos/Ferplast Combi 1 cages to the top of their Hamster Heavens and they've worked out great

So the small Spelos is the way to go. I was thinking of covering over the Spelos too but I'll see first how much of a chewer my new hamster is.

I've been thinking of doing this, my new hamster has moved into the penthouse with his bedding and hoard so I would feel mean taking that away from him. Can I ask how tall the whole thing would be if you put the spelos on top of the hamster heaven?

So here's my Hamster Heaven set up with the new Spelos on top.

I need to put in more substrate in the bottom and also a hammock for safety as I cable-tied the shelf a little high, but other that I'm happy and I think it's an improvement.
