Hello all,
I know there’s still improvements to be made but proud of what I’ve done so far from what I started with. Even managed to make those free standing platforms! Alaska cage setup for Mitzi <3 with kaytee clean and cosy bedding, coco coir and sand “toilet” lol, this will be replaced with a bigger dish soon. Made her house, platforms and floating house.

Thank you so much! she loves the floating house, when she first wakes up she goes up there just to have a clean, I might in the future replace with Sputnik for cleaning purposes though, unsure at the moment as the box is more private.

Re: Let's see your cages - New thread - July 2017
Hi to everyone,
Im new to hamsters and i recently made a diy bin cage for my robo hamster.
the cage is 70cm x 40cm x 40cm (in my area i didnt find a bigger one )
in the near future i might change it with a bin cage thats bigger but until then ill stay with this one.
(I also have made a hiding place inside of the beding which i would like to know if it is good to have for my robo)
Tell me your thoughts about my cage, if i have enough enrichment etc.
And of course things that my hamster would find good in his enclosure.
Thank you a lot in advance.

Hi Lefteris I saw your other thread re taming. I think a good thing to try, is to fill up the right hand side more. What i have experienced with my robo is that he loves to have things to dive in and out of. If you can, fill that area up more. You don't necessarily have to buy things, more cardboard boxes and tubes will do. Just check there is no tape on them.
And yes hides under the bedding is a great idea.
Maybe add a few sprays like millet or flax, millet is often found in the bird section at pet stores.
You could also add some hanging boredom breakers made out of egg cartons and cardboard using sisal or jute. A roll of that will last a long time and is only a £1or 2.
I will link some videos you might find helpful.

I think with the cage filled more you might find a difference in taming your robo
