On average, your hamster will only eat 1 tablespoon every 24-48 hours so anything more isn't necessary. Giving in to her begging will only teach her to beg more, it's a vicious cycle, but it can be broken by showing some tough love and ignoring her when she does that. It's completely normal for her to pouch her food then sleep. Just as it's normal that she chews on her toys and runs about in her wheel, I'd say all her behavior sounds perfectly normal

So if I give her 2.5 tablespoons I should wait about 3 days before refilling it?

I'd actually say 3 tablespoons every three days, but it would be even better to just scatter a tablespoon over the substrate every day or every other day depending on how fast your hamster gets the food.

Re: Traveling with Wasabi couldn't get any more confusing.....
I accidentally let Wasabi out in my neighbors house and found her after the cat did.
But the cat was licking her and Wasabi was just sleeping. I thought she was dead but she woke up and started climbing on Milk, my neighbor's cat. And Milk is half blind so I'm wondering if that has something to do with what happened.
Does anybody know if Wasabi would be safe there? I think she would but that could be like a 1 time thing so.....

Letting hamsters be around cats regardless of how gentle and seemingly harmless they appear(they're not,as cats are natural predators including depending on subspecies even hamsters which unlike humans are obligate carnivores which will kill other animals with no remorse). You certainly got lucky, but from now on be extremely careful and never let it happen again

I think I might leave her with my neighbor since every time I go to her house her cat waits patiently at her cage and won't let me leave until she's spent 5 minutes with Wasabi.

OK, so I don't leave her with Milk? (And what does remorse mean?)

Remorse is defined as deep regret or guilt for a wrong committed. If she can be in the same house with Milk but in a different room that's perfectly fine, but hamsters and cats shouldn't even be allowed in the same room.

Re: Traveling with Wasabi couldn't get any more confusing.....
OK, this is probably going to be final.
I'm going to type up a page of directions for my brother to use and call him 3x's a day (I know that's a lot but I am super worried as this will be the first time I've had a hamster, therefore it is also the first time I left her at home for some time)to make sure he does what he needs to.
So, he feeds her 3 tablespoons of food every 3 days and gives her fresh water everyday. She goes in her playpen once a week and gets groomed (bedding and knots taken out of her fur) every other day.
I just have 1 question: Is this OK for Wasabi?
