Water Bottle for plastic cage
Hi there,
I recently brought a little White Russian hamster who is great but am having trouble with the water bottle.
The one which came with the cage leaks so I need to find a holder for a bottle to place in a plastic cage.
I heard the pets at home play cube was a good solution but they no longer sell these.
Thanks!
Nathan

Re: Water Bottle for plastic cage
You can use industrial strength Velcro as a holder. I find this works best and is the safest method out there. Plus, you can several feet of it for pretty cheap! If you don't want Velcro, I've also been able to use suction cups+zip ties, but this method is more of a pain than others. However, it's still an option if you wish to go super cheap. You can also get the metal pet store bottle holders. These do have risks associated with them if your hamster climbs, but as long as they don't, I wouldn't be too concerned over it. There are also bottles made specifically for aquariums that will stick to glass/plastic, so that's worth looking into if you can. Homemade bottle holders are also an option, but are a little more time consuming than simply buying them, but again, this is another good option. Lastly, you could simply use a bowl. A shallow reptile dish is best for this purpose Good luck finding a holder

If you have trouble getting Velcro. There is a wooden climbing frame toy at pets at home that has lots of holes and two ramps this may also work as a bottle holder. Even if it's a temporary solution.

There are other things you could make a water bottle holder from. YouTube has some videos on making diy water bottle holders.

Re: Water Bottle for plastic cage
I'm in the US, but I found a little ceramic water bottle holder at my local store, and it's working great, plus it seems to be the perfect height for my hamsters. (I have one in each of their cages.)

Re: Water Bottle for plastic cage
I made a DIY bottle stand using popsicle sticks. This way, I can move the water bottle to any spot in the cage easily. I'll include pictures. Attachment 40961
