Default Is my cage good enough?

Um, so I don't really know how to use this yet but I hope I managed to fiddle with the pictures the right way? Idk.

This is a cage I've made myself, it is 90 x 45 x 45, has a plastic mat in the bottom, siliconed nooks and crannies, and has a glass pane in front. It is currently connected to a smaller store bought cage for if the hamster wants a change of scenery or something, idk. The two levels to the right can be reached by, quite frankly, steep ladders, so I don't know if the hamster can actually get to it????

This is for my very first hamster, that I bought only yesterday. He's a brown syrian that I've named Comet.

I'd really want to know if there's anything bad or even dangerous about it!

Ladders with any sort of open spaces are not safe,as they pose a serious fall risk to any hamster species.

It looks good so far! As amity said, ladders aren't safe as is, but luckily you can easily fix this by gluing (make sure to use non-toxic elmers glue) lolli/Popsicle sticks to the rungs so they cannot fall nor break a leg. The only other thing I could suggest would be to add a bit more bedding as Syrians should really have around 8-10 inches of bedding at the bare minimum. Otherwise, it looks really good in my opinion

It looks fairly safe to me, however here are a few suggestions:
The ladder are a safety hazard. Your ham could fall as he climbs and get his legs caught on the bars as he falls, which can break the leg/foot bones. I've found that most hamsters have difficulty climbing vertical ladders anyway. Instead, you could make a ramp, which is a much safer alternative

You might want a few more toys/chews in the cage. The more enriching your hamster's cage is, the better! Treat rollers and treat puzzle balls are a good way to keep your ham entertained. I understand Syrian toys are usually quite large, but rearranging some things and adding some smaller toys which still offer enrichment would be great!

Good luck with little Comet! Remember to let him settle in for a few days before handling him or taming. If you have any more questions, just ask

As well as being open which is dangerous those ladders look very steep & the levels they lead to very high, I would put a lot more substrate in to raise the level & also make it better for burrowing, nesting & digging.
Maybe even remove the highest level or make the legs shorter which might mean removing the lower shelf below it, two levels like that aren't really necessary & it's more important to have easy access to everything.
