housing for a dwarf hamster!
i have recently been thinking about buying two robo hamsters. i have a fair bit of knowledge about them and know enough to look after them. i know that they require a lot of space and i was thinking about purchasing the Hamster Heaven cage for them since every pet store in my area doesnt have cages big enough and i am worried that they will be able to escape through the bars. would the bars be small enough so they dont escape and is it a suitable cage for the robo hamsters or would it be more suitable for the russian dwarf hamsters? i really dont know what to do. i have owned a fair few syrian hamsters in the past and i have had two russian dwarf hamsters in the past that have had barred cages and they couldn't escape from it.
please help me!

Re: housing for a dwarf hamster!
I think the hamster heaven bar spacing would be fine for a fully grown robo but really not sure about a baby, I've only kept Russian & Chinese so can't say for sure.
Two problems with the HH cage though are you would have to use it without the tubes & penthouse (better that way anyway imo!) as those could cause territorial problems with a pair, it may also be too big for a pair, it would be a good size for a single robo but pairs do generally do better in smaller cages as there's less for them to get territorial over so they are less likely to fall out & need separating.

Re: housing for a dwarf hamster!
I think the bar spacing will be fine! Hamster Heaven, if I'm not mistaken, has one of .4 inches or so. Roborovskis need less than half an inch. But if you're concerned you can always easily zip tie hardware cloth over the bars.
