Question Question about wheel size

Hi all

We have a ferplast maxi duna multy arriving tomorrow and we've now reserved a little short haired cream boy from a breeder we found and will be collecting him in a few weeks when he's ready to leave mum. We've decided to call him Teddy. 😊 We are planning on ordering a Karlie Wonderland Bogie wheel and I know that when he's fully grown he'll need the 29cm one but should I order a smaller one to start with or will be still be able to use the 29cm one when he's small?

He would still be able to use the 29cm wheel fine and comfortably when he is still young so would recommend ordering the larger wheel.

I wouldn't recommend using a Karlie Wonderland bogie wheel after recently reading one of the posts in this thread - wooden wheels? what is the best
But if you would like a wooden wheel this is a better choice - Trixie Wooden Exercise Wheel | Free P&P on orders £29+ at zooplus!

I agree with SKB, as long as the wheel spins well and isn't too hard to get moving, he'll be just fine on it Though wooden wheels can be used just fine, I always recommend people go with the silent runner as a first time wheel. These wheels are excellent quality, silent, and smooth spinning which is what makes them perfect. The problem with wooden wheels is that they can cut delicate ham paws and must have a coating or two of plastikote to prevent urine from damaging the wood. Besides that, the wheel will most likely wind up chewed in the end. Good luck with little Teddy!

Eek, I didn't realise that about the Karlie wheel. Will definitely avoid that. Thanks.

Will get the bigger wheel too.
