Default Ferplast Criceti 100 - a 95 x 57cm Hamster Cage

I was looking on the Ferplast website and somehow stumbled across this new hamster cage which I thought it would be worth sharing. The Criceti 100 - a new large hamster cage - a three storey modular cage - with the dimensions of 95 x 57cm by 50cm high.

This cage doesn't have any side door - but instead has a large roof opening, similar to the Ferplast Duna cages. This cage is - modular - which can allow the cage to be extended further. A good height which will allow plenty of space for deep substrate and a 11" or 12" wheel. Also I personally like that this cage is wider than other cages of similar sizes. Comes with 2 large corner shelves, along with other accessories.

Information about this cage can be found on the Ferplast website - using this link CRICETI 100 - as well as the cage Features, User Manual and also the cage can be purchased direct from Ferplast - although I have seen it for sale elsewhere for less.

So this cage could also be another cage to consider if you are looking for a new hamster cage of this size.

It is great isn't it?! I also came across it a while ago - I think it was quite expensive where I saw it though. It looks like a larger version of the Criceti 15. Looks like it has a good deep base as well and those two shelves are worth having as they're quite large. Ferplast ones are strong as well I think.

Cagesworld are selling it for £133! But it might be cheaper somewhere else or when it's been out a bit longer.

Thank you for sharing that. Looks like a really good cage. Is it 1cm bar spacing?

I think it great that both Savic and Ferplast are now making these large hamster cages. I agree this cage is fairly expensive (especially compared to my DIY cage which is larger than this cage which cost a lot less) although I did see the cage on cageworld without all the extra accessories for £75.99 (Ferplast Criceti 100 El Hamster Cage – Next Day Delivery Ferplast Criceti 100 El Hamster Cage).
The Ferplast shelves are good quality and fairly strong.
I did try looking to try to find out what the bar spacing was but it doesn't mention it anywhere but from looking at the picture I would say the bar spacing is 1cm.

I also think this cage is really good but I think it would benefit from a door on the side to allow better interaction with the hamster.

Looks like another good option as a commercial cage . I would buy it without accessories because I much prefer my own set ups.

Its like a bigger version of the grosvenor large rat and hamster cage (too small for any rat but great for my roborovski, Fairy). I love the fully opening top.

Shame that it is so expensive but defo. a lovely design.

It is a nice size and probably comes flat packed which can be useful. The accessories look like they would be outgrown by a Syrian quickly. It would be better with a large side door. It is expensive compared to some other cages of similar size. But still a nice cage.

Aah that's more like it - that's a good price for the cage And the accessories certainly aren't worth £58 extra!

I think the full opening top is great. It's true access could be tricky to the base area if there are shelves in, but it could work really well with deep substrate (ie cardboard round the edges inside to allow deep substrate), reducing the internal height that way and then having one shelf. That way the top access would be really good.

Actually for someone who wanted deep substrate it's better without side doors because you don't have to allow access to them. It would effectively be a tank with a barred top I like that idea.

I do agree that the cage without the accessories is better - it would be a blank canvas to set up to suit both you and your hamsters.
The cage does come flatpack and from the instruction looks fairly simple to assemble.
With additional width does increase the floor space - based on the external measurement it would have just under 5,415cm sq floor space (with the option to extend) compared to a 100 x 50cm cage which would be around 5,000 cm sq.
That's a good idea Serendipity7000, that would allow deep substrate which would make the cage more suitable for dwarf hamsters. I mainly used to use the top door on my Ferplast Mary cage but sometimes the smaller side door allowed access beneath a shelf without needing to remove the top of the cage.
Would love to see this cage in person - but unfortunately I don't need a new cage.
