Re: Pets At Home- medium plastic hamster home
It does look nice!I especially like that there is very little uncovered wide open space,as that can be a problem for hamsters as they're extremely shy creatures much like mice who also need wide open spaces kept to a minimum.
You could definitely add more enrichment items though, like some pieces of dandelion root or loofah or wood etc.It is good to have a set landscape of sorts for a lot of hamsters as they can be stressed out by sudden large changes, but it isn't a problem to slowly change out one thing at a time if you'd like. That doesn't mean you shouldn't give a variety of different enrichment options,as that is very important too!

Thank you! Yes I got the impression dwarves prefer to be hidden LOL
All the Syrians myself or my parents ever had were mostly quite "out going"
Oh yes I wouldn't make big changes it was only little new toys so they wouldn't get bored
Great tip on the dandelion root and loofah! Completely forgot to pick any up actually so will do that next week

Thank you!
The Duna looks like the best sized cage to go for my space- bigger than this one but not as big as Others
It seems to be in a sale so might get it very soon
Don't know anything about this website though or if they're reliable
Will not let me link it up for some reason but it's portonaquapet

Re: Pets At Home- medium plastic hamster home
A lot of wire cages have smaller bases that are sloping,so it might actually fit better than you'd think!

Re: Pets At Home- medium plastic hamster home
portonaquapet have good reviews online and their facebook I also asked them a question on facebook about their sale and they responded pretty fast which is nice.
I love what you did with the wooden toy (the one with all the holes and the steps) I'm gonna try setting up my hammies' one like that!

Thank you! Yeah the way it was laid out on the box wasn't working well for me LOL so I just did that way instead and adds little extra hide away bits under the slopes as well
Brilliant thanks for that! I'll check out their fab too

Re: Pets At Home- medium plastic hamster home
What a great lay out. All my hamsters have water bowels. I put them on their wooden platforms so no problem with spillage or being filled with bedding.

Re: Pets At Home- medium plastic hamster home
Portonaquapet are very good. They usually despatch within 24 hours and have one day delivery. It's the only stockist of the duna multy I've found as well and the cheapest price usually. The sellers on Amazon and ebay charge silly prices for it.
