Is this ok for hammies
Hello everyone
So I have one 40 gallon breeder that peanut lives in
However I would want a new hammy
Is this safe ??
https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/sup...0-%20Specialty
Wow its a big link
It has a ventilation system and a screen lid and opening glass doors
The glass doors have a lock only reached from the outside
What do u guys think?
I will be selling my 20 gallon long and screen lid for it
And willl be selling my ten gallon fish tank
And I will use the money and some other money to buy it if it's safe
Or then again I could just buy a 40 gallon breeder

Re: Is this ok for hammies
I think it would be very good for some hamsters! It probably wouldn't hold enough substrate for a Syrian though, but it should hold enough for any dwarf I was actually looking at getting one myself for a dwarf hamster, they're very nice especially with the access you'd get!

Yes I really like them
However I am only getting Syrians
I think dwarfs are a litttle to small and skittish
I might buy it for another Syrian

Re: Is this ok for hammies
I'd stick to a normal tank then, otherwise you won't get much substrate which would make it even harder for a hamster to cope in a space that it doesn't see as being large enough There are some decent deals for larger tanks though if you can find some, especially if you can get a tank and stand combo which can double as storage in most cases!

Re: Is this ok for hammies
I have three 20 gal long reptile tanks, made out of plexiglass. The lid on mine is a screen lid that slides out. They cost me about $36.00 each, there is a smaller pet chain in the area who sells these Critter cages. I think Pet Smart & Pet-Co sell these tanks, just more expensive.
You don't need the reptile lid as shown in the pic. I wouldn't spend that much money for this tank
Still think it's cheaper to wait till next $1/ gal sale, but if you really have your heart on it nobody's stopping you
I wouldn't buy it personally but I have Pet Supplies Plus who sells them real inexpensive.
