Default Zoo Zone 1 Or Bin Cage?

I want to get my syrian girl, Gizmo, a zoo zone 1 but she has a bar chewing problem.
I would not want to mesh the lid as she would still be able to chew on them. Would it be a problem if i removed the wire lid and put her old cage on top of the zoo zone so it covers the gap? That way she wouldn't be able to hang on to anything or chew the bottom of the other cage, which I am hoping to put a rescue ham of some description in.

Or would I better off with a bin cage? Baring in mind I wouldn't be able to have mesh on the sides because she would just chew it, but the extra height means she will be able to have more height for some new toys to climb on.

Hmm...descisions descisions.....

you won't be able to have something sold on top, cos she wouldn't be getting enough air. If you're worried about chewing, i'd get a really tall bin such as the 84L really useful box and don't have a lid at all (or make holes in the lid)

I dont think you should leave the meshing out as your hammy will not have adequate ventilation in the cage then.
You can buy a very fine mesh, almost like a metal 'cloth' which she would not be able to get her nose through. If you keep all her toys low she should not be able to reach the roof to actually chew anyway so it should be OK that way.
The Duna Multy does not need meshed but it still has bars on the roof but they are well spaced.

I was talking to my bf last night and we came up with an idea. If I get a storage box with high enough sides we were thinking about meshing the lid & meshing arouns all the sides near the top. So the air can get in but so she won't be able to reach the mesh.

If I can't find a tub the right size I'll just get the zoozoone and keep her toys low like she has now. Its just me being fussy & wanting a pink cage so I can get a boy hammy to put in the blue one. I have my heart set on a longhaired syrian x
