A few environmental questions

i have a few random questions.
-what is the best nesting material? is paper towels okay? (afraid of the dust.)
-what should i use to disinfect/clean that is healthy?
-any random environmental things that you can think of that can harm a hamsters health?

sorry for the odd questions, i got hamsters from pet stores in the past and they died very quickly, and i have just gotten one from someone who could not raise the babies (so not a pet store) and i dont want to make any mistakes or do anything that could harm her health. thank you!
