Pet Supplies Plus is also doing a dollar a gallon sale and they have no gallon restrictions either.

Re: Dollar Per Gallon sale at Petco
I prefer the plexiglass Critter Cages for reptiles over the glass tanks. The top is screened and has a perfect place for me to hand my water bottles. I have three 20 gal long tanks. I donated my glass tank to the SPCA because it was too heavy for me to carry. The plexiglass are MUCH lighter
I have a store here called Pet Supplies Plus and they have 1/2 off sale on Critter Cages. So that is where I get mine from. I paid about $33 for a 20 gal long tank. So that is a good sale for my robos.
That's about the same price as a glass tank considering that you have to buy or make a lid. They have 40 gal plexiglass tanks as well. I don't have the space for a 40 gal tank, unfortunately.

Re: Dollar Per Gallon sale at Petco
Glass is definitely not for everyone Glass can be very fragile too, where plexiglass(acrylic,so it's a lightweight but extremely durable plastic)is extremely sturdy and would take far more to break.
It is a personal choice though, but overall either will work just as good but you can expand glass tanks much easier as they can be taken apart where it's not easy to take apart acrylic tanks which are generally bonded on a molecular level instead of sealed together.

Re: Dollar Per Gallon sale at Petco
It does look very nice!I just got a 20 gallon long tank. The worst part is transporting a glass tank, but that is only because I'm a very paranoid person and expected the worst to happen if it seemed even a tiny bit risky during the ride.
It can be very useful for various small pets, especially with 10's and 20's for mice and gerbils. However,my only complaint is that when you buy a lid it will cost just as much as getting another tank of that size and you still need clips for the lid which aren't that expensive. It is important to keep in mind that you're not just paying for the tank though if you plan on buying a tank and lid in store.
