Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
That's about the price I expected it to be really, I would so love one, shame I don't really need it just now & can't justify it even with my wayward ham spending

I don't desperately need it either right now! I would get it and sell the Barney, but I need smaller bar spacing with our occasional mouse problem - although may not do forever!

The mice sound like a good excuse for some serious spending lol!

Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
I can't justify a new cage eithe lol,, especially since it took so long to build my cage and it cost so much but I would really love one too.

Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
Looking at it again, there is about 1.5" of bars below the bottom of the big door. I think if I had one I'd put some 1.5" cardboard pieces round the inside of the bars up to the base of the door, have the substrate deeper (also lowers the height) and have the floor of the substrate level with the base of the door for easy access for a hammy getting in and out A bit of day dreaming going on there. I'm not in a position to get one right now but might be by Christmas

Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
There are now two sizes listed for this cage - 80 x 50 x 50 and 100 x 50 x 50 so I wonder if they are going to do widths as they have done with the Freddy cage range and the Zeno cage range? They will already have the bases in production for the Zeno cages as the bases are exactly the same.

Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
I noticed that too - I think the 100cm details were added afterwards (as people noticed it had said 80cm). I reckon you're right and there will be two sizes. Although 50cm is bit tall for an 80cm cage and there are other options in 80cm cages. Maybe it will supercede the Hamster Heaven. I think the bases are the same as the Zeno too. In fact it looks like a shorter Zeno! Only big difference being the big front door on the Plaza

Re: Latest on Savic 100cm Hamster Plaza
Yep! Definitely same colours etc as the Zeno. The Hamster Heaven base size was the same as the Freddy and the Mickey XL (I know as I swapped bases round on these cages lol! I've had all three of these at various times! )
Both of the main Savic ranges have come in 80cm and 100cm widths - Freddy cages and Zeno cages so I wouldn't be surprised.
The big front door is a big plus - that's what I love about the Borneo cages I have. I do have to clip the doors back on these though as they are side opening and whack you in the head repeatedly when you are furnishing them if you don't clip them back lol. Drop down doors are much better!
I have heard mixed things about the 'knock-down' range though - some say they are hard to put together and not suitable for repeated taking up and down! There's a good Youtube video on building the Zeno cage though if anyone is interested lol. I nearly bought the Zeno for my mice but then I found the huge Borneo cages with big doors and got that instead.
