Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
You know I'm not a syrian expert so best wait for more opinions but I would say that house no 1 is more dwarf size & too small for a syrian.
No 2 & 3 might be ok but it depends on the size of the holes, if those are too small a syrian could get stuck & be hurt.
No 4 looks great!
No 5 should be ok I think.
No 6 I can't see the dimensions.
No 7 looks ok.
Hammock no 1 is probably too small & with any fabric hammock Emma would have to watch carefully out of the cage at first then again in the cage (if she wants to put it in) for any signs of chewing.
no 2 looks as though it could be dangerous if chewed, as though it has some kind of padding?
no 3 looks tiny to me.
Toys
no 1 looks too small, the holes may be way too small.
no 2 not sure about that one, again it depends on the size of the holes but I think I've seen that, or similar in some syrian ham cages here.
no 3 I think the books are fine.
no 4 should be safe enough I think.
Maze I'm really not sure, it's hard to imagine how big the holes are, probably more fun for both Emma & Isabeau to make something out of cardboard boxes!
Shelves look fine if they are arranged carefully to avoid spaces where she might fall or slip.
The play pen might be ok just so long as nothing is near the sides as they are such great escape artists & she could climb on top of something & get out if it was.
I've used pine cones with mine & they were fine, good place to hide seeds in!
Hope that helps a bit.

Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
Hi there! Finding toys for Syrians can be hard A lot of people improvise and make toys or use rat toys. Rat sized toys are usually good.
Ok - here's my comments on the list
1 and 3 are too small for a Syrian really
2 looks interesting! (The round log house) At 19cm diameter it should be ok but depends how big the holes are. My only concern is what kind of wood it is. It says fruit tree wood but mentions aromatic.
4 (the step house) looks good. Plenty big enough as it’s 30cm long and guinea pig sized. It would be better with the solid floor knocked out so it’s open underneath. You might need to partly submerge it in substrate to make the door a bit smaller/lower and put a bendy bridge over the door or something.
5 They look ok and interesting. I’m a bit iffy about the seller Ali Express. You might find the same items with another seller.
6 This is a good house (Miscotta Trixie corner house) – good size for a Syrian too.
7 This is a good Trixie house for a Syrian too (Miscotta).
8, 9 and 10 (Hammocks) Out of those 3 the first one looks best and the last one doesn’t look too safe. The second one might be ok without chains. With hammocks you have to be careful what they are made with/stuffed with. Hammies can chew hammocks sometimes. If it’s thick fleece and no wadding it might be ok. Even then if the hammy shows signs of chewing it, it would need to come out. Depends if you get a chewy hammy. I would email them and ask if there is any fluffy filling. I would get a hammock from a reputable seller – maybe from Etsy? Fuzzbutts make good ones in the Uk.
Toy 1 is good for a dwarf hamster. The holes are a bit small for a Syrian at 4.3cm (5cm minimum for a Syrian really and 6cm ideally).
Toy 2 This looks like it might be ok for a Syrian – hard to tell how big the holes are.
Toy 3 Hamster books – interesting! Not seen this before! If it’s just paper and cardboard it should be ok but I would check what they are made of – it says something about gnawing the covers to make fluffy bedding. A Syrian may just ignore these lol! Depends if you get a Syrian that likes ripping things to bits or not. I would wait and see
Toy 4 is fine
Maze – I think a Syrian would get their head stuck in one of the holes – sorry!
Shelves – first ones look fine (birch bird shelves)
Shelves 2 – looks fine if not too high or a Syrian would fall off probably but fun if lower down.
Playpen – not sure – it’s hard to tell what it’s made of or how well it's made. Some people make playpens out of correx sheets and bulldog clips, or get paddling pools or puppy fabric playpens.
Pine cones – not sure if these are ok or not – someone else might know!

Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
Hahahaha ty girls <3
Cypher >> Well apparently you are more an of expert than I am xD
Emma say >> Cypher / Serendipity go play with your hammies and leave my list alone xD
I say >> Damn Gill is gonna have A LOT of fun now xD
No seriously, okay okay I give in, a couple of mistakes I admit, but don't tell Emma as I will never hear the end of it xD
So rules for stuff for a syrian :
1) Holes in houses and toys 6 cm ideally
2) Hammocks not stuffed
3) Take care of escape artists (are they worse than dwarff or robos, ask because this is what I read from this)
4) No aromatic?
I can see I made a mistake in the description, I forgot to mention that I was thinking to get the maze for Gill (my robo) my concern is if you think it's stable enough, wouldn't want him to get hurt of course, and he moves pretty fast .
The playpen I believe is plastic.
Serendipity >> May I ask why you have a problem with Ali Express?
And last but not least a big ty for destroying our list xD

Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
Lucky Gil
I'm not totally sure about the minimum hole size for a syrian tbh, quite a bit bigger than a dwarf though!
Hammocks definitely not stuffed & preferably not fluffy or furry or cotton, just plain fleece is best
Well they can't get through the tiny gaps that dwarf hams can but they can climb a lot higher & easier in play pens.
I know apple wood is safe, not sure about other fruit woods so aromatic really depends what it is.
I can't see what the maze is made of but I think it would probably be ok for Gil, if it was lying on or partially buried in substrate I don't see that it would fall on him if it was lying flat.
So sorry for destroying your list but I'm sure Gil won't mind

Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
Hole size depends on the size of the Syrian to some degree Some are ok with 5cm but anything smaller than that is a bit risky. Can't tell you why I find that seller iffy! I think we are not allowed to make derogatory remarks about companies on the forum All I can say is I wouldn't buy anything from them - sorry. It might be fine. But I have seen those kind of items from different sellers.
This is one reason

Wow! Impressive list!! I actually love those little bird steps! They look awesome!
Some of your items you listed I couldn't tell - I can't read Chinese! I do like the brand Trixie, but not so much their houses!
The toy 2 you listed is good - we have one! My big boy can fit through it though would rather chew it However, they come in different shapes so you can not garentee the design you'd get

Re: Emma is driving me insane xD
I love those two Trixie wood houses! They are better than the bark wood ones, although I agree with Pink Neon that some of the bark wood ones are badly made. I nearly bought one of those smooth wood ones myself.
Sorry for destroying your list! After much wasted money on rubbish syrian hamster toys I tend to keep it simple now! Wood shelves, plastic sputnik instead of hammock (the rat sized one is great for a Syrian), bendy stick bridges, good sized house, tubes and tunnels Lots of chews, some cardboard things, the odd dangly thing to hide treats in. I also have a pink piggy egg cup in our cage
I don't know if Fuzzbutts ship to Denmark but they do make very good hammocks.

And yes some Syrians are amazing escape artists! They can open cage doors, chew through bases and run really fast lol! Unless you get one like ours who doesn't notice when the cage door is open ha ha.

Cypher >>
Hahaha I should have know that you are on Gills side
Yes that was my idea, to partially bury the maze in substrate, like half in the substrate, so that the other half is free, thought it could stabilize it.
Serendipity >>
I will go with hole size 6 cm, better than risking they get stuck, and then I will keep an eye on her that she ain't in the risk of getting stuck ^^
And should she escape both her and Emma will get an timeout. Then they will have to sit and look at the wall for the hole day xD And they are not allowed to talk xD

And this is exactly why I ask xD
It is such a waste to spend money on things the animal cant use.
Pinkneon >>
Yes it is quite a list, but I actually expected to get some of the things shot down xD So I thought I would show all that Emma have shown me and ask xD Better to do it right from the start right ^^
Yes the steps are really cute right ^^
I don't read Japanese either, but google translate take care of that to a certain point

Serendipity >>
Oh I totally forgot... the plastic sputnik...
I am sorry but I totally hate it, and I know that I will probably get very unpopular by saying that
But Emma loves it, so I promised her she could get one, but as for Gill or any future hamster of mine.... sorry but they are not allowed to get this UFO xD
