What does YOUR hammy sleep in?
Hello!
I've built a new hamster house (Mansion) and I'm looking for new ideas for a house for Poppy to sleep in! At the moment she is in a wooden chinchilla house...although I'd say it's too small for a chinchilla! She only sleeps in one corner so I want to downsize.
What are you guys currently using for your hammys sleeping spot?
Thanks!

Rupert has an open nest under his little platform, Joey uses a little Ferplast Igloo (I think that's what it's called)

Re: What does YOUR hammy sleep in?
Someone recommended this house to me, and my winter white Archie LOVES IT.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-6201...xie+leif+house
It has lots of compartments/rooms, perfect for hoarding, and I think it must feel like they're underground burrowing Plus there are stairs to the roof, and the roof can be used as a shelf. Anyway, me and Archie love it

Re: What does YOUR hammy sleep in?
James sleeps in a wooden cottage from Pets at Home, usually very deeply buried under loose substrate and toilet paper.
Jessie sleeps in a cardboard box with the floor cut out in a very tightly packed nest that has well defined tunnels.
Victoria sleeps in either her half coconut, little sand bath house (there's no sand in there) or she makes herself a nest under her cardboard box (never inside it - funny girl).

Myrcella has built a burrow under her substrate to sleep in, Winston has an open nest that looks like a volcano, Abe loves his little cardboard box, and Belle decided to make a nest next to her wheel in the corner instead of in her grass hut.

Mitch sleeps underneath a platform instead of in his house. Ben sleeps next to the entrance of a tunnel instead of his house, and Speedy sleeps in a tissue box because he's so small.

Can't go too wrong with a cardboard box as long as it is large enough for good nest and food store. Good things with boxes is you can cut out the entrance where you want to suit the layout of your cage.

Re: What does YOUR hammy sleep in?
Pip used to sleep in a coconut pod, she now sleeps under an arched log so I guess it is like a burrow for her...
