I'm not buying anymore chinchilla sand for $40-$50 per carton!

That's a Big increase in price you guys in the US ! It hasn't changed here. Well not in that particular pet shop, anyway. If I lived outside the UK or had more hamster like soufflé I'm pretty sure I'd go down the playsand route but for the 3 hamsters I have (and Lewis doesn't really go in his so only 2 need regular changing) it suits me fine plus I find the boxes easier to store.

Thanks Velma! I'd have been wondering if it was the same. I bought two large cartons last time, to save on postage, so should be ok for a while as I just use it in the potty.

Thanks Velma for starting this thread, I got the last inexpensive box of Supreme science chinchilla sand on Amazon, unless they restock but with the switchover to Tiny Farms, it will be interesting to see what happens to the price? Glad I bought my 6th box though, saved me $30 on this box today!

I'm highly jealous CB. I think the price hike is because Supreme Pet-foods is Europe based, so anything that we get has to be imported, which usually contributes to prices getting Jacked up on Amazon. I've not seen any of the new packaging on the US Amazon site though I'm keeping an eye out. at 20 bucks a carton, I'm just going to get a giant thing of sandtastik play-sand and hope it's just as fine grained as the supreme science brand. No way am I paying 40 either. I've still got the ground walnut litter that was not quite what I hoped it would be. Doesn't sift as nicely.

Yea, they said there was one box left at $10.50 but they wanted like $7.50 in shipping fees. Then I checked again and the price went up to $40 coming directly from Amazon plus shipping on top of that.

My first 5 boxes I got at approximately $11.50 (including shipping and free 2 day shipping), so I was lucky. It said that I was saving $50 per box but I didn't think they could possibly be serious. I could have ordered as many as I wanted at the time. But now I have 6, that should last a couple years I think? Hoping anyways?

They normally put up the price when an item is out of stock - it tends to stop people ordering it and they can still keep the listing live and change it when it comes back in to stock. I've seen it happen numerous times. Bet it comes back down in price once new stock comes in.

Probably, the order I placed yesterday was through a 3rd party seller who had just the one box left. Then Amazon started listing what they had in stock at the higher price immediately after the last (my) box was sold. I'm going to keep checking the price from time to time now out of curiousity. But there definitely isn't any Tiny Farms brand name in yet though

I recently ordered a Karlie Pet Shuttle Transportation Box pet carrier, I think it ships from the UK? From Amazon US , it's 25x19x18cm

The price was good & I just checked & amazon says unavailable from seller currently, don't know when or if it will become available?

Checked the sand too & they are completely out, temporarily. I can't wait to see what they are going to sell it at & if it will be Tiny Farms or not?
