Ikea Detolf Lid
Hi All
I am getting a detolf next week and would like to make the lid beforehand so i can put little nutmeg in straight away.
To anyone that has made one, what are the wood measurements? (really struggling to find this info online).
(Ideally would like the lid to sit on the metal bars with an extra layer of wood underneah to keep it slightly higher off the tank and protect nutmeg from the sharp mesh ends, if this makes sense.)

Please note that Even though not mentioned, Erin used 2 different widths of wood (you can see it if you look closely during the video). This causes the measurements of the lids to be too long to fit the Detolf. I built lids for someone using Erin's tutorial and I ended up having to redo them after realizing that she used different widths of wood.

Re: Ikea Detolf Lid
Shannon made lids for hers - not sure if she used a tutorial?
Hmm interesting. I just checked Erin's video again. It says both the long and short pieces of wood should be 9cm deep. The long pieces are both 67.5 cm in length. With two of these you would get 2 x 67.5cm plus 4 x 9cm (for the depth of the two end pieces on each lid). Which totals 171cm - so that does sound longer than the detolf. I think the exterior length of the detolf is 163 cm.
See what Shannon's measurements are! Then Erin's tutorial will show how to fix the pieces together and mesh them.

Re: Ikea Detolf Lid
I don't have a lid on mine, ive covered all the highest points in the detolf so Poppy has no chance of escape.
