Chinchilla Sand
So my new little boy LOVES digging, so I thought I would try to get Chinchilla Sand in a larger pack to make it a little cheaper. However, I'd like to know ... Is this the same thing?
JR Farm Chinchilla-Sand Special | Free P&P on orders £29+ at zooplus!
I mean, I know they call it sand, but some places call the dust "sand" too ...
There's also this one, but I've never seen it before so no idea what it's like??

And also this one
Charlie Chinchilla Bathing Sand Buy Bedding for Small Pets for your pet from vetgb online vet
And finally this one (which is the biggest!)
4 kg chinchilla sand, terrarium, stones, gravel: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies
Are any of them ok??
Currently I use

Re: Chinchilla Sand
Haven't used any of those. But I did see a gerbil bath at the bottom of the page. It may be a little big but thought I would post the link. It might be useful for hamsters who dig the sand/litter out of there potty.
It could be made by someone good at diy.

Re: Chinchilla Sand
I would stick to the one you're using as it's about the best & safest if not the cheapest.

Re: Chinchilla Sand
Those bath houses are good! I've seen them - they look fun. Agree with Cypher that the Supreme one is probably safest, but you could maybe put something different in his potty litter tray to save on the sand. Finacard sell this pellet litter called Papelit
Hamster Bedding-Dust Extracted Healthy Hamster Bedding
You can get sample bags to try before buying a larger bag, but the sample bag includes the Finacard substrate and the paper nest material as well. The bit of Finacard substrate could be useful to mix in, but you don't really need the paper as toilet paper is fine for nesting material.
It's £5 for a sample of all three
Sample Pack - £5.00 : Finacard, Quality Animal Bedding
Or £3.50 for a 'mini' 7.5 litre bag of the Papelit potty litter - which sounds like the better buy and 7.5 litres sounds quite a lot.
Mini Packs [Multipack] - £0.00 : Finacard, Quality Animal Bedding
He could still have a separate sand bath but you'd use less sand that way - an enclosed one sounds like a good idea.
I actually gave up giving Charlie sand because he didn't like it much - he also dug it all out and then filled his salt pig sand bath with cosy bedding instead. He does have sand in his potty and he still digs a lot of that out and puts bedding in his potty too.

Re: Chinchilla Sand
Just looked at the bath house ... Sweep would LOVE that!
Not sure I can justify buying him anything else though ...
Well, maybe I can LOL
