Sounds like you are getting really well prepared & it's surprising how much you can fit into a cage that size, take your time if you can & just play around with different set ups & until you find something that works well.

I really wouldn't use the Beaphar Fresh Cage Granules. they really are horrible, I bought some when I got my very first ham, at least I'm pretty sure it was those, I never used them, the smell was way too strong for a ham & they gave me an asthma attack!
You really don't need them anyway, hams are very clean & most can be litter trained without too much trouble so there's actually very little to clean!

I just use the classic water bottles, they're cheap & they work well, always have a spare bottle just in case anyway but I've had no problem with those, all bottles drip a tiny bit but I think these are the best.

I used to use the classic water bottles and they are good. I also like these mouse sized ones that I use now which come with a little clip so you can have them on the inside of the cage (it's hard getting the spout through 7mm bar spacing - and that makes them very easy to use I find. They don't drip either and let water out well.

I get them from Porton Aquatic because they are a silly price on Amazon and hard to find. I get two at a time to save on postage again and because you always need a spare bottle (and spare clip!) I actually have two bottles in our hamsters cage now as I'm paranoid about bottles getting jammed up or something! Or suddenly draining (our hamster managed to unscrew a bottle once lol!)

Cypher where did you get those lovely little corner hammock things. I would love to try Flower and Fairy with those! That cage set up is just wonderful.

They're from Fuzzbutts flowerfairy.

ETA I forgot to say you would have to watch very carefully for any signs of chewing, my Chinese have been fine with fleece & Flynt was too but I wouldn't trust Mickle & I know some robos have a tendency to chew!

Seconding this, but just wanted to add, pretty sure they sell them at Pets At Home, if you have one locally and want to avoid paying postage

OMG the cuteness. Have ordered some (four) and will test them on the hammies to see if they chew them (or not).

Both Flower and Fairy do like a right old chomp on cardboard and wood so it could be something for the syrians, we will see.

Thank you for advice! Yes , I feel like I am almost there !

So, my cage finally arrived! I got it from Amazon and initially I was sceptical of ordering through this company because some people had problems with delivery in the past were for example , plastic tray was broken etc. My came broken too in one place , one of wire cage is disconnected therefore I would need to fix myself.Otherwise, it looks pretty good ! . What I found about that cage is that its nor really that big as I thought it would be! Inside of a tray the measurement is only 74cmx 44cm Now I know that I should have gone with a bit larger cage ! Cool thing about it is it has got very deep tray - love it !and it came already with little sivic house , water bottle and stainless steel food pot . I am not sure if I will use them all but sooner or later I would definitely give them a try !I am waiting for some items to be delivered to me, once I receive them I will post some pictures here !

Firstly, I cleaned a cage , dried it and disinfected - extra precaution lol .Secondly, filled with lots of Fitch substrate ! - I have got 20 kg bag and mixed it with confetti Carefresh . I placed some chews and tubes just to have idea of how much space some staff would take. The labirynt from Rodipet is this one :
https://www.rodipet.de/shop/haeuser/...x20cm-5cm.html
It is not in order yet but hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will get it .

As you suggested , I will not use Fresh cage granules and that was just impulse buy.Next time I will ask on forum first .Lesson learnt I will try out bottle water which I received with cage .. I didn't pay enough attention when I ordered the cage to see that a bottle water was included !

I have been visiting almost all pets shops in last month around my area and outside London too ! haha Everyone is involved - family&friends especially my lovely boyfriend who every time goes with me I am always so tempted to buy a hamster but I keep telling myself it is not a right time , new hamster home isn't setup yet , be patient ! haha its sooo hard to say no to those cuties ! .

I would love to get hamster from Breeder however I cannot find winter whites anywhere in London or near London . I tried with recommended Breeder Susanna but she has only Syrian hamsters .Can you recommend anyone please ?
I know there is a separate thread about Breeders but I couldn't find anyone there with Winters Whites near London / London . TIA !

Shame your cage didn't arrive intact, I haven't had a problem with Amazon but they are very good with returns if you aren't happy about it.

That's the thing with the HH, it has such a wide lip it really reduces the useable space in the cage base but there's still enough space overall & plenty of room above ground so to speak!
I'd keep an eye on the water bottle if you use it, those free ones don't always work well, always keep at least one spare anyway.

Sounds like it's about time to yes to one of those cute hamsters!
No idea about breeders though.

Hi. Sorry it arrived broken. Yes the bases do slope in quite a bit. It's not so bad when the base is full to the brim of substrate as then you get the 80 x 50 floor space about. But yes they don't seem so big once you start putting stuff in them. Agree with Cypher, if you were having second thoughts and wanted to return it, Amazon are good with refunds - and there are bigger options. You wouldn't have to pay return postage if it arrived damaged.

At least with a dwarf hamster, their toys and wheels can be smaller so it should be plenty of space I found the water bottle a bit useless. I use these now - they have a little clip you can fix to the bars and leave in place and it's easy to get the water bottle in and out of the clip, plus the bottle can be on the inside of the cage. I found it difficult getting the spout through the narrow bars with other bottles and Charlie hated the noise it made!
