Cool cleaning wood

Hey everyone.
I was wondering if it was ok to clean the wood accessories from one hamster and give to another. I've read that they can be boiled to sanitize them.
My dwarf, Izzy, passed away on Monday. I'm not sure how. Actually the vet I used to work for and my wife currently works for told the wife I could have been a lover tumor. Anyways.. I can't confidently say nothing contagious. I wanted to sanitize the bendy bridge and wood hideout for my syrian, Annabel Lee.. instead of throwing them away. I would never do anything that would hurt them.. thoughts?
Thanks

If the wood is varnished it is o.k. to boil the toys. However if you boil them and they are not waterproof/varnished then the water will soak into the wood and start to rot it. Baking the toys will have the same effect and won't damage the toys

Ok.. thank you. I'm probably going to just throw them out. I wouldn't want to chance anything. Makes me sad.. I still haven't taken her house down... ugh

If you bake the toys it will kill any germs that are still there and remove her scent.

If you are putting wooden toys in the oven please keep a close eye on them for the time they are in there. I've heard of toys burning when they are being baked to disinfect them and this could be a fire risk.

Do you mean Fahrenheit or Celsius?
My oven's celsius and does go up that high but I suspect it would burn wood to a crisp if I left them in at that temp for 20 mins

We are American so we use Fahrenheit, 350 Celsius would probably set it on fire.
