I've Been Inspired!

I've been looking for a new hamster cage recently, as one of my hamsters seems very unhappy in her cage. And they constantly bite the bars and as they're at opposite ends of the room, it drives me crazy when I'm watching TV :P. So I was looking through the hamster cage thread, and I was totally inspired by this photo.



I've seen tanks like this before, and loved them... but always though, "Hmm, how would I furnish it?" But after seeing that picture, I've been on ebay and purchased 2... One for each of my hamsters.

My question is, how am I going to find a water bottle to stick to the side? I think the above persons is stuck to the side, but I'm not sure. Otherwise, what can I do, as I'm assuming the tank is glass?

Also, do you think if one of the ladders falls off, my hamsters will be able to climb up easily enough? One of my hamsters has a bad leg...so I'm hoping she will be fine... but if the worst comes to the worst, I could put food at the bottom each night, and a small bowl of water, yeah?

I'm so excited and can't wait to start decorating them!

It's a perfecto tank Bex and quite popular. The water bottle in the pic is test tube type and held on by a sucker. You can see it on the glass. I have seen these about but can't find one just at the moment except in the USA

You can get suckered 'Sippy'bottles in the UK but we don't like these as the are hard to clean and some hams can't work them. There are bottle hangers available that you slot over the edge of the cage or you can but adhesive Velcro at Staples and use this to attach the bottle to the glass.

Thanks for the link! I'm going to buy 2 if I win the bid on ebay! (Which I will...because I'll be annoyed if I don't, and only end up with one :P )

So how is the sucker holding the water test tube on?

The sucker will have like a clip or a ring which fits round the tube part to hold it in place. You can get other bottles with sucker attachments so it's worth looking around in your local pet shop.

Ahh! The item has ended. I wonder if I contact the buyer!

I think that pet store has an online shop and I've seen them around a lot so I'm sure if you contact them you will be able to order the tube bottles Don't go crazy though on the perfectos. They do sell them in P@H so best check the new price to compare.

Oh bum. Do they really? I shall have a look! I've put my highest bid on one of them at £30..cause it ends tonight whilst I'm at work.

In other news, I've bought 2 test tube water bottles with suckers... and loads of other things for their new cages!

Here's the old one! It looks bigger than the new one in this pic, but that's because I used zoom on my camera... And Huei's bars were white (this is stella's cage)... and you can hardly see through white bars!

Stella's will be picked up soon too! And I've got better toys and ladders on their way! And the test tube water bottles But fornow he's got a little dish of water.
