What to do with spare cage?
Hey guys!
So, as some of you may know, I currently have two Rattie boys. I have my ham (Tori)'s old SAMLA bin and I don't know what to do with it. I personally prefer rats over hamsters (I don't hate hamsters, I've just found owning rats to be a more rewarding experience for me. I'm not saying rats are better than hamsters, it's just a personal preference). Well, anyways, I don't know what to do with the old cage. My parents won't allow any more pets in the house and I accept that. Do you think I should sell it? Give it to someone? Keep it incase?
Thanks you guys!

Keep it in case of fights or an unexpected need for quarantine. You never know when you will need an extra cage.

Re: What to do with spare cage?
Well, that's the thing. I already have a barred spare cage and a travel cage for the boys...

Re: What to do with spare cage?
If you already have spare cages, I'd give it away. It could be a nice home for someone's hammy/rat/mouse/gerbil (?) esp a child who's unlikely to have the $ or inclination to buy a decent sized cage. Better than sitting in your house gathering dust?
Here in the UK we have a scheme called Freecycle which allows people to exchange unwanted things for free. If you have something like that in the States, that could be a good place to try? You'd probably need your parents permission & involvement to make sure things are safe.

Wall-a-pop and Let Go are essentially ebay sites that only sell to local people. If you don't want though I will take it. I need a playtime/timeout cage.

Re: What to do with spare cage?
Thanks guys!
I might be giving it away to a friend, but if not I'll wait her use it as a normal storage bin or post it on a second hand site.

You could just use it as a storage box I guess! Having mesh on it won't matter (christmas decorations eg Although maybe not for loft storage if it isn't sealed.

Do you have a small animal rescue near by? You could donate it

Re: What to do with spare cage?
If it was me, i'd keep it!
I know that I am weak when I see other animals in petshops... so if I saw a hamster or animal I really couldn't resist, i'd keep it in the spare cage temporarily! :P
Its always handy to have a spare, but if you already have one you could just sell it/give it away!
