Lol I'm confused too. I think this thread was the older one and the other one more recent after doing the review. Anyway it sounds like everyone has found their joining strips are better if fitted again with a bit of jiggering about lol. Cypher mine is definitely longer than yours, so not a 9" wheel strip. A good centimetre longer. So maybe I need to look at putting it on again. And see if my front and back pieces could push back any further to close the gap. Either that or I have a slightly defective joining strip.

Ok had an email back from the ebay seller saying yes it should be 5cm and after reading how you two dismantled and pushed the sides in harder I have done the same - and no gap now. I hadn't put it together correctly dur! It really does take quite a bit of pressure to get it slotted in and up to the edges of the joining strip but now I've done it I know what to do next time. So will have to edit the video.

Awww tiny ham in a nice big wheel!
Whisper had a bit more of a run in hers too last night, I couldn't really see her though, it was just a blur!

Serendipity I did notice with mine that you do need to push down really firmly to get the strip right into the front & back, it's not always obvious just by looking at it that it isn't all the way in. Sounds like you have yours sorted now anyway.

I wish I could see Charlie running in his! He only uses his wheel in the dark hours when we're asleep and I don't think he runs in it as much as he used to, but he definitely uses it every night, and he also decided to christen it by peeing in it lol (as I discovered when I took it apart and put it together again). Something he doesn't normally do. It wiped clean quite easily. I think they should specify on the instructions that there should be no gap if the front and back pieces are pushed far enough onto the running track - but have added that bit to my video review anyway.

Got a quick video of Butters in the new Silent Runner Wheel after a partial clean out. He's a lot like your Charlie, Serendipty...only runs at night in the dark. Only noise...putter patter of hammy feet

Lovely! He looks to be enjoying that I have never managed to get a vid of Charlie in a wheel except once when he was quite stressed after we'd been on holiday and ran in the wheel on the sofa and in his flying saucer, but obviously I'd rather he wasn't stressed so if I'm ever going to video him in it would probably need a surveillance camera lol!

I contacted Exotic Nutrition for a replacement joining strip because one side is looser than the other even though I bought it from Sugar Gliders on e-bay, they are sending me out a new one free of charge! I told them I'd tell the forum about their good customer service and that there are a couple threads promoting their new wheel! Thanks to Serendipity!
