Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
I guessed the bar attachment would probably be the same but it doesn't make that clear on the sugar glider site really, not that it matters as I rarely want wheels attached to bars as I usually have to take them out to clean them too often!

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
I am very tempted as even with plasti-kote flower and fairy make a right old mess on their wheels ...

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Cypher did yours smell like a sweetie shop when it arrived lol? Mine did. But when I wiped it the smell went away. But then I got mine from an ebay seller and not the sugarglider shop.
Flowerfairy - sorry - didn't mean to tempt you lol. It might be a bit easier to clean but no wheels are really easy to clean - if they pee in the wheel it could get in the grooves where the track meets the front and back, but it would certainly be easier to wipe out and not get stinky like a wood one. I really liked the Karlie wood wheel we had but the ball bearings weren't strong enough for Charlie lol.

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
My did smell oddly sweet yes, very strange but it went away really quickly!
It got a little bit of a test drive last night, Whisper was quite happy to jump in & have a little run, a quick run around her play box then she was back in for another go, she wasn't go full speed but turned it easy enough & did seem to like it.
I think the bit that joins the plastic strip ends will get some pee in it but it is very tight so shouldn't be much so I don't think taking the whole wheel apart for cleaning would need to be done that often, time will tell!

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Cypher - there's a bit on the other thread about joining strips. Exotic nutrition say mine should go the whole width of the running track and not have gaps either side and that I must have been sent the wrong joining strip. Cinnamon Bear says her 9" one doesn't go the whole way across either - just wondering if yours did.

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Mine fits nicely, it fills the gap between the front & back pieces, once I struggled with it & finally got it in the right position, no gaps I can see, I could take a photo later & see how it compares if you like.
I'm getting a bit confused & forgetting which of the two threads I'm posting in now

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Thanks. I've emailed back Exotic Nutrition (who told me I shouldn't have gaps). I have about a half centimetre gap either side of my joining strip. The ebay seller says she only sells 12" wheels so it must be the right one. Anyway mine measures approx 5.25cm so yes it would help to know what size yours is if it's not too much trouble

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Just had a proper look, there is the tiniest gap, maybe I still didn't get it dead centre though, it measures about 4.5cm roughly.

Re: New Silent Runner wheel in Uk
Thanks Cypher - my gap looks slightly bigger - at one end. I guess it's not so unusual - the seller said to me it was normal to have a slight gap. It was exotic nutrition who said there shouldn't be any gap. I had sent them my video review and said I was happy for them to use it if they wanted as it was positive lol. They emailed back saying there shouldn't be a gap and the strip should go the whole width and I must have a strip for a 9" wheel.
