Problem with bin cage
Hi,
I have been trying to make a bin cage for my hamster, after seeing many tutorials on youtube. But every time I have tried to cut into the plastic it has chipped. I have tried drilling it, sawing it, cutting through it. But it has just chipped every time and made some really shap and ugly edges which I would never put a hamster near. Do you guys have any other ideas on how I could make a cage?

Re: Problem with bin cage
I've not made a bin cage but the best thing seems to be a hot knife. You can heat a knife as you go but is laborious as it cools too quickly. An electric hot knife should slice through a lot easier or if you can't get your hands on one of those you can use a soldering iron but use an old one as i believe it knackers it. That should cut through the plastic without chipping it so much & then you may just need to file the edges of the plastic a little.
Good luck, I'm sure the seasoned bin cage makers on here will plenty of tips
