Default Hector & Cleo's changing cages

I enjoyed doing the Christmas cages for a Hector & Cleo so when it was time to redo them a couple of weeks ago I decided to I would do another themed setup for them each (well colour coordinated anyway ). I thought I'd start a thread so when I change them I can keep all the updates in one place.

Their Christmas cages can be found here Christmas with Hector & Cleo (pic heavy)

I usually use Carefresh naturals as I really quite like it & I can get it relatively cheap from a local hardware store. However I had a discount voucher for the big green shop so thought I'd try some Carefresh confetti for a change. I'm not sure I'd get it again - it smelled a bit weird in the bag but seemed to air fine. I just got one bag & layered it on top of the naturals to make it go a bit further.

Hector got a new seesaw for his yellow & purple theme & it matches the tv that was previously in with Cleo. He also got a reptile bowl to stand on under his water bottle to help keep his nails down. The rest he's had in previous cage incarnations at one time or another.

Cleo had a purple & orange theme for hers to go with her new purple igloo. She seems to really like it as it has the little entrance tunnel. She actually uses that as the entrance unlike all her other houses where she's dug in down the side!

I tried the hammock for a few days but have taken up out since as she left the fleece alone but chewed the edging a little bit. I'll take the hammock off & put it back in just as a hanging bridge, I think. The wheel is a but too small for her now she's grown so hopefully I'll soon be getting a slightly taller tank so I can fit a bigger wheel in for her. The reptile resin decoration that her food bowl is on worked really well last month so I've kept that in. It keeps her food out of her bedding & she likes hiding underneath it too.

Complete with book at bedtime

Velma the cages are brilliant! I recognise quite a few things my 2 have.
Sounds like Cleo and Hector have taken well to their homes.

Thanks! I thought it would have been ripped to shreds by now but barely nibbled!

The local pet shops (of which we have quite a few) must love it when they see me walk through the door
Apart from Cleo's cage, which I couldn't get in a local shop, I haven't dared start online pet supply shopping. Yet. I keep looking but I've a horrible feeling that, at midnight just browsing, amazon one click may be worst enemy

February cages so a bit of a valentine/red theme this month. For a change I used wood shavings.

First up: Hector.

I've given him his silent spinner this month so I could move the position of the wheel. For the first week he decided to make the box on the shelf his nest & then moved back "downstairs" to his usual spot under the shelf, behind the ramp.

Next up: Cleo.

As Cleo moved in to her new tank, I kept most of the things in her cage the same as her last set up, with a couple of additional 'valentine' things. I changed the chews & took out the hammock as she chewed it.

Thank you. I've found I really enjoy thinking about how I'm going to set them up. And it means they get more rotation on toys & chews so hopefully keeps them entertained. And I think about what I have in the house I can reuse.
