Oriente 10 for a dwarf?
Hello,
do you think this cage, Oriente 10, would be ok for one winter white? I dont have lots of space for those really big cages he would deserve, but this one looks just fine. I want a wire cage too, so thats ok...but im not sure about the gap between the wires, they dont say if its 1cm or more...
Anyone has any experience?

Re: Oriente 10 for a dwarf?
hiya i would say that cage should not realy be a permenant home for any hamster. the shops do sell them but its not realy fair on the hams. if you need one which doesnt take up much space then go for one with more levels. all hamsters need space to run around even if they are small and the dwarfs run around even more than a syrian! try going bigger.
also yes you do need to be carefull with the bar spacing. if you go to pets at home website they actually sell cages with narrow bars for dwarfs and there are some better sized ones. i always think that if you would like to live in it if you were a hamster then its ok but if you dont fancy it then the cage is too small! good luck on your mission!

Re: Oriente 10 for a dwarf?
I agree it's going to be a bit small for your Winter White. Space I understand can be at a premium! A better wire cage option would be the Criceti 15, which is also sold by ECF. You could also try the Imac Fantasy, which is a wire cage and you can add levels. It's about 25x15 inches. You've got to make room for your little one. Just be creative with organizing your space and you'll be surprised what you can fit.

Re: Oriente 10 for a dwarf?
which is the Criceti 15? I thought that was the starter cage, or is that the Criceti 9? I do get confused. The website says that cage is 19" long, which is bigger than the starter cage. I'd say, if you're short of space, go for something with extra levels in, so you ham gets more space without the cage taking up extra space for you,
