I find the 12” silent runner (not “spinner “) is the best wheel - partly because it seems to last forever. It’s also safe and sturdy. The 11” trixie wood wheel is good but I find these don’t always last and need replacing - the bearings break and they end on a slight lean with the wheel rubbing against the base. It’s a nice wheel though and a lot cheaper than the silent runner. But have to say I got sick of wheels breaking on me. My Silent runner was still going strong after two hamsters and almost 3 years. Still silent as well.

I agree with Serendipity, very happy with my silent runners. I have 3 of them and they still look like new and still silent. I know the wooden ones look more natural but plastic are easier to keep clean. Also they don't look that bad in a natural cage if that's the only thing that's not natural looking

Thank you for your advice. I will have to look into the silent runner. It does seem very expensive though but I guess it’s only around £10 more expensive than the wooden trixie and I’m more likely to go through more of those which makes the silent runner good value for money in the long run I guess. Thanks again

I am now considering getting the silent runner or a rodipet wooden wheel, after having two trixie wooden wheels that have broken and are now noisy, after only a week of use for each. Although they are expensive I think it will be worth it! Hopefully I can find a way to get one of them in the UK.

Another good wheel for Syrians is the rolly "rat" wheel it is 27cm and you can get it from pets at home and amazon.
