Cotton Pods - OK for hamsters?
Hi Guys
Just spotted these cotton pods and wondered whether they are suitable for Syrian Hamtsers at all? http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/ca...erial-toy.html
I know they are not allowed the fluffy bedding bought in bags, but just wondered if this natural cotton stuff is ok.

Re: Cotton Pods - OK for hamsters?
Digestable cotton? I wouldn't use them if it were me. Cotton is cotton and once chewed up out of the "pad" it has the same dangerous properties as the cotton bedding. I would explore some other toy options if I were you and stick to toilet paper for nesting material.

I would avoid it too. I mean yes cotton is a natural fibre but you could not digest a cotton wool ball could you so just because it is plant origen they should not say it is OK for hamsters. It can stick in teeth causing choking, get tangled round feet and impact the bowel.
