Default Savic hamster heaven

Hello my name is Donna and this is first time posting on this forum and I want to say hello.

I have ordered the Savic hamster heaven which should arrive in a couple of days. I used to have the Riviera Varazze extra large cage but my hammy managed to chew through 2 of the bases!

My hamster is currently in her old Ferplast Laura cage which is way too small for her but she hasn't chewed through the base on that one, but did on the Riviera cage?

Has anyone had any problems with their hamsters chewing through the hamster heaven?

Thanks.

Hi & welcome to the forum
The base of the HH is pretty sturdy but some hams have been known to chew through just about anything, fingers crossed your ham will behave & it will be ok but I'd still be on the look out just in case!

I have a Syrian hamster and I've had her for 10 months. She has had 3 cages so far and ive had problems with all of them. With the only problem with the current one being too small.

She even finds her way out of her hamster ball by chewing the doors open. So when she is in it I now have to tape the doors closed. She's a madam! Lol.

I too have a HH and the quality doesn't seem that great to be honest :-/ first night I set it up my Zoe escaped and was roaming around on the floor when I found her. The problem is the tubes break off really easily so thinking of supergluing them on as I need the tubes to connect to other cages. Also some of the welding is a bit dodgy and come away, luckily in my case it's in places it doesn't matter. Oh and I think the bace plastic is fairly brittle so be gentle when cleaning not to bash it against anything. Apart from that my hamster loves hers and it has plenty of space and not too high for hamsters to fall from a great hight. Since changing the way I set it up I've not had a problem with escapes. And think the positives outweigh the negatives
