I wouldn`t worry about the cork being an issue with their claws but if it ever became worn or looked tatty due to wear and tear, you could either pick it off the wheel and buy some thin strips of cork and reline it, or remove the cork and sand the wooden running surface down and use a paint called Plastikote to seal it. Thank you! I would plastikote it first any way for peace of mind just incase Hamish was to wee on it! Although funnily enough he never has on his plastic wheel!!
