Question Hamster Carriers.

I need to take Pixie to the vets because I think her teeth are overgrowing despite getting hard treats and chews and wooden sticks etc to gnaw on, she just doesn't seem interested aaaand now judging by the bite mark in my finger and what from what I was able to see whilst checking her over last night, it looks like her teeth are overgrowing somewhat.

I've looked at Hamster carriers on Pets at Home and judging by the reviews they are all bordering abuse and or torture.

She has a bin cage but I really didn't want to use a tub for transport and really wanted a purpose travel carrier since unfortunately I don't drive so it's a train journey at a push, or a taxi if I can find a vet closer then the one I have in mind, hence wanting an actual carrier.

Does anyone have any ideas / places I can look to find a suitable one for a dwarf hamster? Again it needs to be an actual carrier due to the nature of the travel for her own safety and my sanity.

Thank you
x

Those carriers on viovet are fine, you'd only want the medium one, I wouldn't get anything larger, they don't need that much space in a carrier, just lots of substrate to burrow into, depending on the length of the journey you may want to put a piece of cucumber in too.
I think smaller is safer tbh, I've had a few different carriers & found the hinges on most are rubbish & just snap but that one's better.
I actually use a small one meant for fish for mine but the vet's really close by, it wouldn't be suitable for a longer journey & doesn't have a handle, just a grip so it could be awkward on a train!

Thank you. I did think the medium would be better but I suck at actually making a decision based on Pixie without input from others that know more then me (as you probably noticed over and over again )

I have this one for our Syrian. I think it's a nice size - not too big, not too small. There's space in it to half fill it with substrate and put a little house and a hidey place in it and scatter some food. It's Charlie's Den when his cage is being cleaned.

It's similar to the one on your link, and about the same size as the 'large' one. I like the idea they have a little bit of space in there to move around or dig as well as sleep. I carry ours very carefully in my arms and don't risk carrying it by the handles.

I figured the smaller one cause as Cypher said, Pixie's a dwarf, don't want too much space (and a small one at that, I think she was the runt of the litter as she was the smallest of all when I got her).
Either way I've brought the smaller one from Viovet as a needs must (I like having options xD), I was planning to look into others in the future, so thank you
I also wasn't planning on using the handles, I'd worry about the rocking motion that arms naturally do, making Pixie shift over which would be unfair, much more stable & flat between arms & knowing people on the trains around here, if I had to stand, someone would knock me trying to get around, wont have it! xD
