Question Sky metro connect to little zoo??

Hi peeps
Im new, my name is kelly
Im thinking about getting a new hamster. My baby died a few months ago. Bless her.
Ive been eyeing up new cages.
I really like the hamster sky metro/hamster heaven.
And the little zoo extra large harvey cage.
I have seen someone on youtube has linked two hamster heavens together by their tubes.
And i was wondering if i could do it with a heaven and a little zoo? As they are different brands.
I think ive found that little zoo uses 5.5cm tubes. I dont know what heaven/metro takes.
I also like the look of the zoo zone 2 as well

Any imput would be greatfully recieved
Thank you x

Hi Kelly. I`m not sure about joining two unrelated cages together but if your plan is to get a Syrian hamster, the Zoozone 2 would be ideal on it`s own and the good thing about Perspex cages is that they prevent bar chewing, which some Syrians enjoy doing if they are exposed to bars. Much to the annoyance of their owner! Dwarf hamsters can do the same, or try to climb the bars, so a tank-style cage would prevent this. The Zoozone 1 would be a fine size for one dwarf hamster. x

I have the Sky Metro, and while it's a good cage, I had to remove the tubes as my Syrian was nesting/peeing/hoarding in there, which wasn't healthy for him. I think this tends to be a problem with a lot of new hamsters. If it were me, I'd just get the one and remove the tubes right in the beginning to prevent it from happening! If you were looking for more space, the Barney is an excellent cage.

The Savic and Ferplast tubes are compatible as are the p@h own brand tubes but from the zooplus website they are 5cm rather than 5.5cm so I don't think the Little zoo cage will work. The Harvey cage looks pretty small for £35 (Amazon) when you can get an 80x50cm Alaska for that price anyway.

The zoozone 2 is a great option, like racinghamster said, not having to worry about bar chewing is great and it's a fantastic size. I have a hamster heaven which I do like but there are cheaper options for 80cm cages if you don't need or won't use all of the accessories you get with it or the sky metro. I guess go for the sky metro if you REALLY want it to be expandable; you have a good few options in the Savic, Ferplast and p@h range. I had a Ferplast combi 1 on top of mine as a "bedroom" which worked okay for me for a while.

Not sure about your cage but I currently have 2 pets at home brand large cages connected and wanted to know if the savic hamster heaven metro cage would connect so I went in a store and tested them. I've ordered one because don't stock that in store. So maybe here tomorrow. Perhaps you could be cheeky too and take one of the tubes to a store to test it

@racinghamster
Thank you. I have a ferplast duna medium i think for my last hamster. YoYo. A syrian. But she was a large girl and i felt that she deserved a bigger cage. I do perfer perspex cages rather than bars because of chewing. Tho YoYo descided for months to go for it any way bless her.
I was looking up zoozone 2 last night. And alot of people have put mess on the lid because bar size is wide. Doesnt look too difficult. And at 100cm it looks a great size. Tho ive realised some google searches send you to the zoozone 1. So if i get that one. I will have to make sure its the correct one.

@jen250
Thank you
I had worried about hygiene with the tubes. Maybe i ll stick with buying a removable tube system for inside the cage for hamster fun.
I hadnt heard for the barney. That looks like a nice size cage.

@shannonmcn
Thank you
For the ideas on the tubes.
Also looked up the alaska last night. That is also a nice size cage and i see ur point about that verses harvey.
I had seen the metro at pets at home and was impressed with the lay out. But i guess i can create something simular myself.

@hammy2
Thank you
Thats a great idea. Hope you like ur new cage set up.
Wish they had hamster warehouses with everything on the net so u can physically see them.

Thank you all. Its all very helpful info
I now have a long list of different types of cages to think about and choose from. I dont think i will get a new hammy untill ive figured it out lol xxx

Yes, do check the sizing (Zoozone 2 is the 100cm long cage) and I`m pretty sure it only comes in a blue base, while the ZZ1 comes in blue and pink. x

@racinghamster
I was having another look last night. And a read of reviews of cages on here.
And noticed that the ferplast duna multy maxi is 100cm but no need for meshing. So i think i will try and go for that one. If i can find it anywhere.
I realised yesterday that i have the mini duna. Definitely not big enough. My YoYo had alot of outside cage time. And would also travel places with me. She was happy in her cage and anywhere really. But always wished more for her.

The Ferplast Duna Multi Maxi is one of my favourites. It was selling for a good price recently and then went back up to something like £59.00. I`ll see if I can find the link for you. x

I found one on a website called Miscota for £56.21p and I think delivery is free if you spend over £39.

Google the cage though and check other websites for a cheaper price:
