Default GABBER REX - anyone???

Hi there,

I'm new here (will go introduce myself shortly!)

I am in desperate need of a Gabber Rex cage - my Syrian Little Mo is stuck in a Peggy Metro and seems a bit fed up despie all the new things i give her.

Anyone have a gabber to sell? or know where i can buy one????

Many thanks

i'd say just keep trawlling ebay. that's how i got all of mine. They do pop up now and again. Have you considered the cambridge? that's pops up a lot on ebay and would mean you'd get her in a better cage a lot quicker

Thanks for the reply Bunsey - I have considered the Cambridge, but she is getting obsessed with chewing bars (even though she has multiple wooden things and treats to chew on) so i was hoping to get a plastic cage

do you think this one is any good? http://www.pet-points.com/product_info. ... ts_id=2054

Looks a little similar to Gabber but prob not as good quality and as big....

A Zoozone is a good alternative to the Gabber Rex. The only drawback is having to mesh the lid as the bar spacing is too wide otherwise. The Zoozone 1 is about the same size as a Rex, or if you have the space you could go for the 2 which is about 100cms long. Both make great cages They're easily available online but prices vary a lot so you have to shop around.

The link is a Gabber lux which is quite a bit smaller than the rex but we have kept a small syrian in these quite happily. There is a pet shop with one for sale in this thread. Maybe you could call them?

The Imac fantasy on your linked site is a nice cage.

that's a good idea, the zoozone is a great cage! The lux is a little small - no bigger that the peggy, so there'd be no point in moving her into one of those.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions

I was about to order a zoozone 1, but then after a bit of searching came accross this http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/catal ... ivery.html

Its a ferplast - similar size to the zoozone but looks like i wont need to mesh the wire top.

Only thing is, mo likes her second storey ledge on the peggy to sit on and look out - dont have one with this new one, but I think you can get houses with big flat roofs cant you?

Also...she's nesting in the tube in the peggy, so might miss that in the new cage - I'll give her plenty of tubes and hidey places tho (plus nesting in the cubes made it a nightmare to clean out!!!

Thanks again and i'll post some pics once i have the cage set up

Sharon xxxx

Ooh that's fab! A perfect Gabber replacement. And not a bad price, especially considering there's free delivery.
I'm going to have to remember that - not that I need any more cages

A wooden house (you can get various sizes) with a flat roof would make a good 'shelf', yes

ETA: If you haven't already ordered it, you can use the codes FANCYRATS or FUN88 at the checkout to get a 10% discount

It's fab isn't it? Was so chuffed when I found it - and it's about the price I wanted to pay.

The lady from the shop phoned me to ask what colour I wanted (i chose greeny blue) and she said that all the ferplast larger cages are coming in with smaller gaps between the wire - she said that Ferplast must be listening to customer demand, which is a good thing!

I've bought one of these too so she can sit on top http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAMSTER-HOUSE-WIT ... 240%3A1318

I dont think my partner realised having a hamster could be so expensive!!! But it's worth it to see her happy (I just hope she will be :S)

DOH! already ordered! Oh well, got a free little hammock thing for spending £40 anyway :P
