Default "hamstersafe" wood?

Hi! I want to build some wooden toys for my hamsters by my self... Does anyone know which wood is "safe" to use for little dwarf hammies? I think I have herd that apple wood should be ok, but I mean where do you find planks of that?
Is oak ok?
Thank you so much for all answers!
