Can apple tree branches go straight into the cage without any treatment, drying out etc?
The photos are very tiny on the links, I didn't explain myself properly, sorry 2littlepuds. They do not display large like if I go on amazon and search for a product myself but I can see the tiny photos but they are too tiny to see clearly.

I usually cut an apple branch and check there is no green alga growing on it or anything I don't like the look of and if the piece is ok I leave it to air in the house for a couple of days before cutting it in to hamster cage size pieces and putting in a hamster cage.

It would be fine to put the apple twig in the freezer for 24 hours to be absolutely sure it is safe.

My Syrians are not as keen on chewing the apple twigs as much as the Roborovskis who like them much more.

Thankyou i think my grandparents have an apple tree in the garden, will save me a few pennies if they do

Yeah im struggling for nice stones round here, im thinking of buying some decorative pebbles and gluing them together. Just trying to find things a little different from your standard pet shop hamster toys that Squibbles shows no interest in whatsoever!
