Default Caging

Hello there, Im just wondering. I'm planning on making ym own hamster cage a bin type one.

Firstly, the base will be a clear plastic bin (maybe plane clear or blue). Secondly, I plan for the top part to be again another clear plastic bin turned upside down so both are touching each other (kind of inverted, mirror effect).

What I need help with is that both the bins have a lip around the edges, so when i place them together both rounded lips will touch making it difficult to think of a way to connect them. I have thought of glueing them with a glue gun but that might not be strong enough.

So the hamster can breath :P i will cut out areas so wire mesh can be placed but again how would i go about connecting them to the bin (s). I've heard Galvanised Hardware Cloth is good for hamster but any suggestions would be great .

Thank you all.

I'm not so clear on why you want to put one bin on top of the other? I think that might make it rather high and a hammy might hurt itself if it fell. There is a good section in the WIKI on making bin cages
here
http://www.hamstercentral.com/wiki/How_ ... in_cage%21
There is also another one there to you can look at.
Hope that helps.
