It is a bit difficult because it is heavy. I have only had to fully cleaned it twice since February I have bought a mini dustpan & brush to aid me I have lined the top 2 levels with bird cage sand paper to keep their claws down so I just take the paper out & shake it into the bin & if it is soiled I replace it. I clean & rearrange their houses/food bowl/wooden logs often but the tank itself hardly gets soiled at all - & the 2 times I have cleaned it out I put it in the bath
I really love it & Im so glad I got it. When I 1st got them I had them in a Gabber cage but I could only see them if I was looking down on them, which wasn't very good! So now I can sit on the sofa & watch them zooming up & down & I like that they have a lot of space because they don't really like coming out for cuddles

Your cage set-up looks great Jenni! Just one thing ~ I think I can see some of the cotton-wool type fluffy bedding in your cage. This is dangerous to hamsters, as it can tangle round limbs and block up intestines, leading to death.

Re: Lets See Your Cages ~ Updated thread 2008
Jenni your perfecto tank looks great, i moved one of my robos into one the other day (my gerbils and other rodents have lived in it before that)
Though i find the tank very easy to clean and shower out, tipping it on the side into a bag then hovering up the remaining bits in the corners. I then take it and shower it out & dry it quite easily. I tried avoiding showering it out by just giving it a rub and changing the substrate but found that the ammonia smell soon built up.

Re: Lets See Your Cages ~ Updated thread 2008
I'm glad you posted those cage set-ups mollldoll! I buy a lot of my cages from zooplus and have been eyeing that cage up for a few months, but never could imagine what it would look like with all the bits in place! Definitely the next buy when I need one (I already have four cages yet two hamsters ).
Biscuit's new cage:
The wooden ramp has gone for now, as has her see-saw so she has more room and less things to bang into. May take down one part level when I clean her out as she doesn't really use it and without it I could put her wheel back on the stand and have more visibility of her.
