Default How much has it cost you?

I thought it would be interesting to see how much we have all spent on our cage setups for our little friends so heres mine!

Type of Hamster - Syrian

Cage

64 Litre Really Useful Box £11.50

Extras

60 piece Puzzle Playground £4.99
Small Snak Shack £3.99
Wodent Wheel £11.86
Play Stix £1.99
Water Bottle £0.79

Total £35.12

Type of Hamster - Roborovski

Cage

50 Litre Really Useful Box £9.99

Extra's

Puzzle Playground 58 piece £1 (Car Boot Sale find)
Wooden Tunnel £2.49
Playstix £1.99
6.5" Silent Spinner £6.99
Water Bottle £0.79

Total £23.15

Obviously I haven't included anything like bedding, hamster balls or food on that list.

I think those setups are really good value but £60 is still quite alot of money - its no wonder my finances aren't improving much!

I could have saved a bit more by getting cheaper storage boxes but I really like the really useful range

Wow this is gonna hurt...LOL

For Jasper, a Syrian... in the 4 months I have had him. Most things I have to buy online as my nearest pet shop is a 2 1/2 drive away.

1. Gabber Rex Cage - £35.00 inc.p&p
2. Water bottle - £2.99 inc.p&p
3. Food bowl - £1.25 inc.p&p
4. See-saw toy x 2 (broke the bit that holds the seesaw up on the first one) £4.99 inc.p&p
5. Puzzle Playground - £5.99 inc.p&p
6. Silent Spinner x 2 (one for his playground, on for the cage) £14.99 inc.p&p
7. Gyroball - £7.99 inc.p&p
8. Other hamster ball (for cage use) - £3.99
9. Fiddlestix - £1.10 inc.p&p
10. 3 different climbing frames/suspension bridges - £17.99 inc.p&p
11. Wood sticks - £0.99
12. Hamster jingle ball - £0.99
13. 2 IMAC play bridges - £6.00 inc.p&p
14. Play tunnel (which he has never used!) - £2.99 inc.p&p
15. Hamster potty (& 1 box of litter) - £5.99 inc.p&p

And all the rest of the toys I have saved over the years. I have never thrown a hamster toy away, I take really good care of them so all my hammies can use them. My Crittertrail tubes are about 12+ years old, its a shame I can't get any more though, as I noticed the Crittertrail tubes have actually shrunk over the years! No way would a Syrian happily fit in them anymore.

I have 13 lived in cacges and 6 "spares" for rescues - set up with toys, bedding, wheels etc has cost me around £60 per cage (including the cage) so just over £1,140 wish I hadn't done that now

Old Ferplast Jenny I had lying around that I modified, plus shelves and ramp - free
Zoozone 1 - £32
Gabber Rex - about £35
I'd say I've spent no more than about £40 on her wheel and other toys over the past few months; not too bad, it was a bit ridiculous that she had three different cages at one point though I actually really want a glass tank for her and would splash out on one if it wasn't for the fact that it'd be way to heavy for me to lift from the shelf she lives on (space is at a premium at t'mo).

Chinese Alan has the Gabber that was originally bought for Ness, and I got him a Silent Spinner, hanging ladder toy and 60 piece Puzzle Playground, plus stocked up on food, for about £20 the other week, want to get him some chinchilla sand to bathe in next, it never ends...

I have a ridiculous amount of food dishes and water bottles of various sizes so rarely need to buy those. Bedding and food costs are minimal, I just stock up on Harry Hamster when I can and a sack of Megazorb lasts weeks.
Haven't needed to take either to the vets yet.
Now if I were to think of how much these rats have cost me...

I have had:
Ferplast Rainbow - £45.00
Hamster Heaven - £70.00
Gabber Rex - £30.00
Furry life.... - £25.00
Habitrail Ovo - £40.00

I have no idea how much all my other knick knacks cost. Last time I checked it was near £400. To think of the clothes I could have bought is killing me But it's worth it
