Default Should I disinfect my old hamsters toy to give to my new one?

So sadly my previous hamster (lily) died of wettaile about 5 months ago instead of disinfecting Lilly's cage, I just bought I new cage for my new hamster (muffin) since Lilly's cage wasn't big enough for muffin anyways. So there's this slide piece (from Lilly's cage) that I wanna add to Muffin's cage, and I'm not sure if I should disinfect it or not? It's been sitting in Lilly's cage for 5 months already, would there still be anything contages on it? Or can I jut wash it with vinigar? If I should disinfect it, then wha should I disinfect it with? I hav no hydrogen peroxide or chlorine, so what should I use?

I read here someone suggested to leave the toys soaking in sink or bucket for a while with household disinfectent or cleaning product or white wine vinegar then the most important thing is keep rinsing and rinsing and rinsing and rinsing ..... Like million times until get rid of traces of chemicals! Otherwise chemicals if ingested by you little hammy will be dangerous
If toy or item is wooding better chuck it in garden recycling bin is my advice. Better safe than sorry
Good luck

If its plastic, wash it with warm water and white vinegar, and I would do it a couple of times just to make sure! If its wooden, I would probably throw it away, but i think you can wash them and dry them out in the oven...

Mine have separate toys (but that's because I buy too much ), between hamsters though I scrub the plastics and just bought new wooden ones, mainly because they had been chewed to nothing (Cleaned with water & vinegar solution)

We're currently waiting for one of our indoor rabbits to come home from being bonded with a girlie from the rescue and I washed all the toys with water and vinager (50/50) and gave the wooden things a scrub with an old towel that I dipped in the 50/50 solution it worked well for me when my outdoor pair were bonded so it should be fine this time too
