you'll need a different wheel, needless to say. When i rescued splodge (fat as can be winter white), that's the wheel he had in a rusty wire cage with no other toys. Gem had a broken wheel, as good as no wheel at all.

anyway, i digress. I wouldn't remove the shelf cos it'll be too small without it.

Does that wheel hang from the bars? Not the greatest invention if it does, it kinda looks like it from the pics

Of course its purpose being a nursery I'm not too worried about wheels as she'll not be having one for the time being, by the time shes done with the babies she'll have a new cage all ready for her anyway

yeah it hangs from the bars. it's meant for mice. it comes with the habitrail mini mouse cage. the width inside would only be wide enough for a chinese hamster at most.
